Pumpkin Naked Bear F1 Seed
Naked Bear is a cute little pie pumpkin that is slightly flat in shape, measures 5-6″ wide and produces naked seeds that do not need to be hulled to be eaten. Medium-size vines produce very good yields of 2-4 lb. fruit that have a bright orange color, shallow ribs, and thick, short stems. Naked Bear pumpkins can be used as a boxed pie pumpkin or for the edible seed pack market.
The naked pumpkin seeds can be roasted and eaten as tasty, nutritious snacks. The fruit is high in fiber and essential minerals with a flesh that is abundant in the antioxidant beta-carotene. The bowling ball-sized fruits also make excellent fall decorations with thick stems that help them work well as jack-o’-lanterns, and the plants have intermediate resistance to powdery mildew.
Pumpkin naked bear seeds should be planted in late spring once the soil warms up. The plants grow well throughout summer in rich soil that is kept evenly damp but not overwatered. Growers can enjoy high yields when the bear pumpkin seeds mature in 105 days.
